Stilled & Quieted

Stilled & Quieted

“Lord my heart is not proud; my eyes are not haughty. I don’t concern myself with matters too great or awesome for me. But I have stilled and quieted myself, just as a small child is quiet with its mother. Yes, like a small child is my soul within me. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord—-now and always.” Psalms 131:1-3

I know it has been pretty quiet around The Modern Mrs. Blog for awhile. I have been intentionally working to slow, to quiet and to live in a simpler way. Finding my way around Motherhood these last two years added a new spin on living life in a balanced harmony. God is so Good though, isn’t He? I have been reminded that this Blog is a way for me to celebrate what He is doing in and around me and sharing that Story. Our services at church have been around Being a Witness, which simply means telling the story of what you have witnessed. (Sojourn Church if you want to check it out.)

So I am happy to return to blogging! I’m happy to find routine of sharing life in general with readers here and connecting the community of women striving to find harmony in all our many roles. Do you choose a Word for the Year? We did a fun crafting night on New Years Evening this year and crafted items with our words to remind us, call us and be a visual of our intentional word for the year. My word was Present.

Present has to be sought after through the crazy web of day to day.

Present has to be sought after through the crazy web of day to day.

My goal has been to slow and be present in each moment. Whew! Not an easy task, right? My goal has been to ask myself in Daily Examen (more to come on this one) who was I present for in my day. My goal has been to count the presents/gifts in my life to fill my life with intentional gratitude.

What have you been setting or reaching towards as goals this year? I so look forward to reconnecting with many of you readers and look forward to sharing deep life and daily gifts with you!
