Today I have a fun craft idea for you to share as a Grown Up Valentine’s Day Craft. This short project will take you less than 10 minutes and is sure to bring a smile to dear friends in your life.
This year I’m sending out a few Valentine’s to friends of mine spread out all over the country. One thing I’ve learned growing up is that friendships that are spread over the miles can sometimes still be the closest. Friendship is shared by heart-to-heart moments and those can take place no matter distance or proximity.
I found these too cute paper heart doilies at the Dollar Tree. $1 Score!
You can grab a box of a variety of tea bags at the grocery store or use some you have on hand.
I have fallen in love with this quote from St. Augustine…
I hand wrote this beautiful quote and stapled a tea bag onto each heart doily.
How true it is and how easy it is, to run around restless. We often think about the emotions of the heart, love and commitment at Valentine’s Day time. I think it is also wise to think about the peace and rest we were created for. Our hearts can only go so long restless and ragged.
For me a time of peace, rest and slowing down is often reflected in a good hot cup of tea and some cozy setting. Its my hopes that these simple hearts of rest will bring the warmth of love and a reminder of true rest to my girlfriends spread out all over this Valentine’s Day!
What are you making for Valentine’s Day? Do you send Valentine’s to grown-up friends or the kiddos to their playmates? I’d love to see what creative ideas or traditions you are doing this year…
