“You will discover things in the woods that you never found in books.
Stones and trees will teach you thing you never heard from your school teachers.” -Saint Bernard
Earlier this week I found myself sitting around Netflix-ing. Its cold out so its easy to bundle up in the heating blanket and somehow the hours just absorb into thin air.
I was watching an awesome documentary Mile…Mile & A Half
These crazy cats get out and do 200+miles on the John Muir trail; snow, currents, passes with insane elevations, they do it all.
“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” -John Muir
And there I sat.
I was about 30 minutes in and thought, THIS IS CRAZY.
It’s not that cold out. I mean yes, 29 degrees is chilly, but I own a jacket. I own gloves. I own a hat.
I got up off that couch, bundled up and went to the park just 10 minutes down the road.
I know its cold folks. I know its Winter for most of us. But man oh man are there sights to see and learnings to soak in out there in the great outdoors…..and then you can come back in and curl up with hot cocoa or coffee as you marinate on the soulful moments found in nature. I’m learning life lessons with John Muir.
“The sun shines not on us, but in us.” -John Muir
