If you read much of The Modern Mrs. Blog you know I am slightly obsessed with baskets. Just slightly.
Last week my mom and I had a fun DIY day and picked up some of those great wooden paintables from Michaels. So much fun!
Their CraftSmart paints were on sale for 34 cents each so we stocked up on some great new spring shades.
This little wooden basket was primitive and a small buck, yep, stole my heart immediately. I wasn’t sure what I would do with it, but added it to my shopping basket and just waited for the inspiration to come…
I decided to give it some jazz for my yellow kitchen with citron green all over and a yellow handle.
I love the look and it is the perfect size to display or serve tea bags. I’m going to make this cute little tea basket as a great Mother’s Day gift or way inexpensive birthday gift to girlfriends.
You can absolutely get creative with the color scheme and the display options. The basket would be adorable holding index cards in an office, lipglosses in the bathroom or a catchall that is cute instead of the junk drawer.
Let the ladies in your life know you are thinking of them with this simple project. Heartfelt sentiment doesn’t take loads of time or even a big budget, small gifts come packed with lots of love!
